"Every life counts"

Can fostering one dog really make a difference?

Yes – The difference is YOU.
Foster a dog in Dubai for 2 weeks or more and change a life forever
We provide our full support and vet care if needed – you provide daily care, love and a safe place to sleep, without the life long commitment of owning a dog.
Why foster?
Every foster opens space for another rescue – and gives one dog a chance to thrive in a home.
• Relieve stress – Provide a calm break from shelter life.
• Build confidence – Help dogs adjust to home living.
• Save lives – Be the bridge between rescue and forever family.
How it works (4 easy steps)
- • Commit to at least 2 weeks
• Apply online – have Emirates ID & passport ready + tenancy agreement / home owners title deed
• Choose your pup at our Saturday adoption event (The Petshop, DIP) – or let us match you.
• Foster with love while we find their forever home.
We've got your back
You'll never foster alone – we are there for you:
• A team member assigned as your primary contact for any questions you might have
• Ongoing support from our foster team
• Vet care when needed
• Help finding your pup's forever home

Fostering helps SDC gather valuable information about the dog - how they are with kids, other dogs and cats, if they are toilet trained, leash trained and what their temperament is like. This info is invaluable when a potential adopter is looking for a suitable dog and the adoption team can match dogs and adopters more effectively.
Real foster stories

Tiina
Our family has fostered dog after dog for the past 8 years and we just love seeing an unsecure dog realize they are safe and with time, come out of their shell. They are all such lovely individuals, we simply love being part of their journey to a happy life.

As foster parent, you need to be responsible: while fostering, the dog is just like your own pet and needs to be taken care by you; at the same time, that dog doesn’t belong to you, it belongs to their future family and that family deserves a pet that has been properly treated and cared for.
