WHO WE ARE
The Stray Dogs Center (SDC) is a non-profit animal welfare organisation, founded in 2013. Our mission is to help abused, abandoned, neglected and forgotten stray animals in the UAE with a "no kill" policy. Our shelter holds 1500 rescue dogs, a handful of wonky donkeys and 15 cats.
We are licenced by the Federal Authority, the Ministry Of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE), and the Government of Umm Al Quwain (By Royal Approval), United Arab Emirates.
WHAT WE DO
Rescuing dogs
We rescue stray, abandoned, and injured dogs—mainly in Umm Al Quwain, but also in other Emirates when critical cases arise. Every rescue deserves a second chance at life.

Rehabilitate
Most dogs arrive in very poor condition—starved, sick, covered in ticks, or traumatised from abuse or neglect. Some are on the brink of death. Their healing journey begins with medical care, safety, and time. Rebuilding trust and confidence can take weeks, sometimes even years.

Rehome – Dog adoption program
Our mission is to find loving homes for every dog we rescue. Through our dog adoption program in the UAE and internationally, we match dogs with families ready to welcome them. Every adoption matters—because for each dog that finds a home, there’s another still waiting to be rescued.
